The Dam

The picture above is why I have started this forum. It is the Dam/Spillway pond located on the corner of Greenhill and Hershey Mill road. Fishing for bass, catfish, carp and bluegills was an everyday occurrence for me, my family, and my friends. It was a stunningly beautiful place to just go and relax and reflect on life in general. It was drained to eliminate flooding in the East Goshen area, including the estate houses at Hershey Mill's. The township has received information from the EGT board of supervisors on how to make the dam safe for the community, but nothing has been done to fix the problem. This has not only impacted my life, but it has affected the wildlife in the county of East Goshen, disrupted the ecosystem, and disrupted the path of migratory birds in our area.

I write this to inform the public that more needs to be done to ensure that great places for fishing are never lost again. We must preserve the environment for the generations that will follow ours. Fishing is a positive outlet for everybody who takes part in it, and it supports good conservation habits for our country.
